Remarkable garden of Orvès
8.5/10 230

Former property of the painter Pierre Deval, listed among France’s historical monuments since 1993, the garden is labeled « Jardin remarquable » (remarkable garden). It’s known as one of the most beautiful gardens to visit in France.
The closed garden around the house, more architected, lose itself gradually in the « garrigue ». The garden mixes endemic plants and plants from other parts of the world, surprising the visitors walking on the paths.
Fountains, false sources, pond…water is everywhere!
An unforgettable trip filled of the charm of history and botany.

Sustainable tourism

A charming source of freshness...
At the foot of Mont Coudon, beyond its garrigues, undergrowth, meadows and olive groves, the Domaine d'Orvès is home to a magnificent Provencal garden built in terraces. Mediterranean and exotic species are elegantly entwined around the ancient bastide at the center of the property.
A majestic avenue of old oleanders climbs up to the century-old plane trees on the terrace. With its different levels and numerous water features, basins, fountains and ponds, this ornamental garden is an interesting example of a gravity-fed irrigation system.
