Horses transhumance in the Verdon
Transhumance is a seasonal movement of a herd to reach new pastures.
You will be on horseback like the gardians of Camargue or gauchos of the Pampas of Argentina, to supervise horses and foals.
You will accompany a herd of 60 horses and foals over two days starting from Equestrian Riding Center of Gringolet of Artignosc in the Var to the hamlet of Venascle in the Alpes de Haute Provence.
The Verdon Horses move their herd twice a year, in spring (in April) and in fall (in November).
Level required: comfortable at three paces.
Minors must be accompanied by a parent.
Stage of the horses: in a big park.
Stage of the riders: at the Hotel-Restaurant l'Ermitage (in Les Salles-sur-Verdon)
Tourist interest: the Sainte-Croix Lake, the villages of Baudinard, Bauduen and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. The Roman Way.
