Estissac Fort
Nowadays, the fort houses an exhibition which is open to the public in summer.
Listed in the Additional Inventory of Historical Monuments, this fort originally consisted of a large round tower, with 2 vaulted levels. It is caracterised by its enclosure drawing a 5-pointed star.
At the end of english occupation in 1793, a part of the tower was destroyed. Under the Empire, the missing part was rebuilt on a square basis.
Firstly decommissioned in 1885, the fort definitively lost its military function by becoming the property of Port-Cros National Park in 1997.
Its overhanging position is providing a breathtaking panorama of Hyères bay.
Currently, the site is used for public exhibitions during the summer period.
During that time of the year, free and commentated visits are proposed from the National park home, everyday at 10:30.

In case of a severe risks of fires in the forests of Port-Cros, the Fort is not accessible.
