Set in a gorge fed by the rivers Issole and Caramy, this 247-acre lake, lined with 8 km of shores and containing 8 million cubic metres of water, was created in 1936 to supply Toulon with water.
Bathing and sailing are prohibited on the lake for safety reasons, but you can enjoy fishing carp, pike, roach and perch there in peaceful surroundings.
The surrounding country offers many walking and climbing opportunities (Brauch cliff in particular).
